She does an excellent job of caring for her babies right away. I do help dry babies off since, even in April, our evenings get chilly. We watched until we were sure everyone had managed to nurse and then kept an eye on them from time to time from the goat cam we put in the maternity ward. After two weeks or so, I’ll start milking Laura in the mornings and then letting her kids nurse during the day. This kind of milk share works well on our farm.
